Getting started
Sign in with Google
- Open the live app at purchase-history-reraqndqsq-uw.a.run.app.
- Choose Sign in with Google and complete Google OAuth.
- Pick a Personal or Household plan when prompted (billed through Stripe).
There is no separate Purchase History password — your Google account is the sign-in.
Add it to your home screen
Purchase History works in the browser; you can install it like an app. On a supported phone or desktop browser:
- iOS Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen.
- Android Chrome: menu → Install app / Add to Home screen.
- Desktop Chrome/Edge: install icon in the address bar, or menu → Install Purchase History.
Once installed, it opens like a standalone app and works well for camera capture.
Add your first photo
- Use the camera or photo library to capture a product or dish.
- Wait for AI recognition to suggest a description.
- Confirm or edit the name, then save.
- Optionally add a 1–10 rating, review, or notes.
Photos are stored as normalized, metadata-free JPEGs (up to about 1600px). Successful image descriptions use one analysis credit. Uploads are also subject to your plan’s storage limit (and a 15 MB per-upload cap).
Look up “have I bought this before?”
Photograph an item again, or search your history, to see prior purchases with ratings, reviews, and notes. Exact matches append a new purchase event to the existing product; close semantic matches ask for confirmation before merging.
Places & visits
The Places tab ties restaurant and shop stops to what you ordered there.
Nearby places (~150 m)
Allow location when prompted. The app lists food and retail venues within about 150 meters (nearest first, with places you’ve visited before on top). You can also search by name if the right venue isn’t nearby. Place lookups use your approximate coordinates only for that request — coordinates are not stored.
Visit window (3 hours)
Choosing a place starts a visit. You can rate the place (1–10) and add notes. A visit stays current for three hours, so photos and in-store checks from other tabs attach to it while it’s active.
Menu scan
On a visit, photograph the menu or pick a PDF menu via Scan the menu. The service reads dishes (section and price when available) into suggestions for that place. Each menu scan costs one analysis; the menu photo/PDF is not kept after extraction.
Order items
- Type a dish name — free; no analysis credit.
- Photograph a dish during a current visit — uses the usual analysis pipeline (one credit on a successful description).
- Attach a photo to a typed name — no extra analysis.
- Change photo on a saved item — updates the picture without re-analysis.
Menu items are matched only within their place, so the same dish name at two restaurants stays separate and never merges with a retail product.

What counts as an analysis
- One credit per successfully described product or dish photo (add or lookup).
- One credit per menu scan (photo or PDF).
- Typed dish names are free.
- Change photo without re-analysis is free (storage still applies).
Unused analyses do not roll over month to month unless we expressly say so.
Household invites
On Household, the account owner invites members by email. Recipients sign in with Google as the invited address and accept the invite. Members share the account’s purchase history, quota, and storage.
Stripe Customer Portal
Manage payment method, invoices, plan changes, and cancellation from the Stripe Customer Portal linked inside the app. Cancel anytime; access continues through the paid period according to Stripe’s billing cycle.
Codex / MCP plugin
Purchase History ships a Google-authenticated MCP plugin so compatible AI clients (including Codex) can work with your purchase and visit memory under your account.

Point your MCP-capable client at the production MCP endpoint on the live service, then complete Google sign-in when prompted. Detailed install steps and tool descriptions are in the repo plugin and README.
- Use the same Google account you use for the browser app.
- The browser app remains fully usable without Codex.
- Do not commit local secrets; OAuth is handled by the service.
FAQ
How accurate is photo recognition?
AI suggestions can be wrong or incomplete. Always confirm or edit the name before relying on it. Purchase History does not guarantee perfect recognition — see the Terms for the accuracy disclaimer.
What about my privacy and location?
We store account, photo, purchase, and visit data to run the cloud service. Approximate location is used only for Places lookups; coordinates are not stored. Photos are saved as metadata-free JPEGs. Full details: Privacy Policy.
When do analysis credits get used?
Credits apply to successful image descriptions and to menu scans. Typing a dish name is free. Changing a photo without re-running analysis is free. Failed or aborted jobs do not consume a credit the way a successful description does.
How does household sharing work?
Household (up to 5 members) shares one account memory, analysis quota, and storage. The owner sends email invites; invitees sign in with Google as that address.
How do I cancel?
Open the Stripe Customer Portal from the app and cancel the subscription. You can also email [email protected] if you need help. See Terms of Service.
