PhoneRC is a Bluetooth HID (Human Interface Device) remote control application for Android. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information Collection
PhoneRC does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The application:
- Does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII)
- Does not use analytics or crash reporting services
- Does not use advertising networks or track your behavior
- Does not access or read your contacts, messages, files, or other app data
- Does not create user accounts or profiles
Bluetooth & Location Permissions
PhoneRC requires the following permissions to function as a Bluetooth remote control:
- BLUETOOTH & BLUETOOTH_ADMIN: To communicate with paired Bluetooth devices
- BLUETOOTH_CONNECT: To establish and maintain connections with remote devices
- BLUETOOTH_SCAN: To discover nearby Bluetooth devices during pairing
- BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE: To advertise as a Bluetooth HID device
- ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION & ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: Required by Android for Bluetooth scanning. These permissions are not used for tracking or location data collection. They are system requirements imposed by Android OS for BLE functionality.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE: To maintain a persistent Bluetooth connection while the app is active
Important: Location permissions are required by Android's Bluetooth API but are never used to determine, track, or store your location. The app operates entirely locally on your device.
Data Storage
All data in PhoneRC is stored exclusively on your device:
- Paired Bluetooth device information is stored locally on your phone
- User preferences and settings are stored locally
- No data is transmitted to remote servers
- No data is shared with third parties
- No data is backed up to cloud services
You can delete all stored data by uninstalling the application.
Third-Party Services
PhoneRC does not integrate with any third-party services for analytics, advertising, or data collection. The application has no dependencies on external servers or cloud services.
Children's Privacy
PhoneRC does not knowingly collect any information from children. The application is not directed to children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information immediately.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of PhoneRC following the posting of revised Privacy Policy means that you accept and agree to the changes.
